Bio
I started practicing yoga 8 years ago and my life has never been the same. Yoga has been transformational, empowering and healing for me. I experience yoga as both an invigorating physical practice and a method of expanding spiritually and mentally.

When I practice yoga, I am able to experience prayer through movement and use it as a vehicle for communicating with the Divine. This practice has freed me from life long patterns of struggle and pain. Calm, ease and balance are produced in my life when I show up on my mat regularly and practice being with what arises without trying to change it or fix it. Yoga is practice for living life and has opened me to experiencing life in ways that I never imagined!

I am stronger in every way as a result of my yoga practice and bring the intentions of empowerment and growth with me to my mat and to my teaching.

I have been inspired by Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Diana Vitantonio, Kate Saal, Mother Theresa, Thich Nhat Hanh, Jesus Christ, the Dali Lama, Johnny Kest, Pema Chodron and Baron Baptiste.

Thoughts:

  • Favorite Yoga Teaching?
STHIRA: steady SUKHAM: (and) comfortable AASANAM: posture. I like to think about this as it applies to my every day life as well.

  • Why practice yoga?
For access to my body and my feelings.
  • Favorite Yoga pose?
    Triangle - so yummy!

  • Best time to practice?
    Evening
  • Advice for a beginner?
Focus on the process, and being present in the body and with the breath. It might not be about getting to a really good looking pose, it might be about getting to a really good feeling life.
